Brompton Fountain

My nominated charity is Brompton Fountain.

The Brompton Fountain is the children’s charity at Royal Brompton Hospital - a national referral centre for complex heart and lung disease which treats some of the most seriously ill children in the country. They work in partnership with the hospital teams to provide a wide range of essential resources and support services as well as funding vital medical equipment, parent accommodation, toys and entertainment for the playroom, research projects and improvements to the hospital facilities.

Many of their patients have complex conditions and will require frequent admissions and often long stays in hospital for surgery, diagnostics and on-going treatment throughout their lives. The charity is dedicated to making a difference for these children and their families when it's needed most.

You can find out more by visiting their website Home - The Brompton Fountain

East to West

East to West are an Egham based charity dedicated to ‘bringing hope to young lives’. Working in partnership with schools, colleges and St. Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey, we’ve pioneered Relational Support Work, a pastoral response putting young people at the heart of a targeted wellbeing and mental health response.

Our hospital work focuses on those who’ve been admitted having self-harmed, attempted suicide or who’re struggling with an eating disorder. The team (largely volunteers) work in tandem, with one sitting and sharing with the young person, whilst the second team member supports the family, many of whom are often in shock or questioning their role in the issues their child is struggling with.

We are delighted to have been invited to be Ann’s charity of the year, and we look forward to getting to know many of you over the course (pun intended!) of the next year.

To find out more visit https://www.easttowest.org.uk/ email Dan Beedell at danb@easttowest.org.uk or ring 07412 072987.

Any support is greatly appreciated.
